Sustainability is improving the quality of human life while living within the carrying capacity of supporting eco-systems

Copper is a finite resource, mined from ore deposits formed in the ground millions of years ago. It is unique in that it can be endlessly recycled without loss of properties. This ensures its conservation for future generations. When copper is mined and refined to 99.9% purity, gases such as SO2 are released. Although these are collected by the metal producers to protect the environment, during the recycling process there are virtually no emissions. Recycling copper and other materials reduces landfill costs; copper constitutes a very small percentage of material found in landfills since it is considered too valuable to throw away. Recycling uses 15% of the energy that would be used to mine and produce the same copper. Recycling helps to conserve the world's supply of fossil fuels and reduces CO2 emissions.

Bevolo handcrafts our fixtures from the purest copper possible. We pride ourselves on fixtures that are lifetime products and will be in your family for generations to come. Bevolo uses hand set copper rivets in its production. Other light fixtures use solder to hold their fixtures together which weaken and break over time reducing the lifespan of the products.
